Peacekeeping-intelligence is the non-clandestine acquisition, verification, analysis and dissemination of information by a United Nations peacekeeping mission, within its mandate, area of operations, and a secure and directed mission cycle. It is performed in full compliance with the United Nations Charter and basic principles of peacekeeping to enhance situational awareness and the safety and security of UN personnel, and inform operations related to the protection of civilians tasks of the Security Council mandates.
